Apple sets date for iPhone 18 launch event
Apple will hold its annual autumn hardware showcase on September 9, where the company plans to introduce the iPhone 18 line and new titanium Apple Watches.

Apple sent out invitations this morning for its autumn launch event on September 9 at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino. The headline device is the iPhone 18 Pro, which shifts to TSMC's 2-nanometer A20 chip.
The physical footprint stays familiar. Apple kept the 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch screen sizes from last year, but border trimming brings the bezels down to 1.1mm. Base storage on the Pro models now starts at 256GB, which finally kills the 128GB baseline on the pricier phones. The main camera sensor grows to 1/1.14 inches with a mechanical variable aperture on the Pro Max model.
Pricing runs as follows:
- iPhone 18 starts at $799 for 128GB.
- iPhone 18 Plus sits at $899 for 128GB.
- iPhone 18 Pro costs $1,099 for 256GB.
- iPhone 18 Pro Max costs $1,299 for 256GB.
The standard iPhone 18 gets 8GB of RAM and uses the older 3-nanometer A19 silicon. If you already own an iPhone 16 Pro or 17 Pro, this will not feel like an urgent purchase unless you need the 4K 120fps log video recording on external drives.
