Honor Magic V4 launches in Europe at 8.8mm thickness
Honor brought its newest book-style foldable to European stores today, measuring 8.8mm closed and packing a 5,300mAh silicon-carbon battery.

Book-style foldable phones used to feel like two standard handsets taped together. Honor just eliminated that excuse. The Magic V4 measures 8.8mm when folded shut and weighs 218g, which undercuts standard flagship slab phones.
It costs 1,799 pounds in the UK and 1,999 euros in mainland Europe. That buys you 512GB of internal storage and 16GB of RAM. Honor managed the slim profile by switching to high-density silicon-carbon batteries, fitting two cells that total 5,300mAh. On a single charge, the phone easily manages six hours of screen time across the 7.95-inch interior OLED display.
The hinge mechanism uses steel gears and holds open at angles between 45 and 125 degrees. It snaps shut with a crisp click, and the display crease is barely visible under direct overhead lighting.
Software remains the weak spot. MagicOS handles two apps side-by-side without stutter, but full-screen scaling on older Android apps still forces black bars on the edges. If you want a folding phone that does not bulge in a trouser pocket, this is the best hardware on shelves right now.
