Apple plans a full glass redesign for the 2027 iPhone lineup

Twenty years after Steve Jobs showed off the first iPhone in 2007, Apple is preparing a major visual reset for the 2027 iPhone lineup. Known inside component channels as the iPhone 19 Pro or the anniversary edition, this model drops the Dynamic Island cutout entirely. Face ID hardware moves underneath the OLED panel, leaving only a tiny punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera in the top center.
The A21 Pro processor and chassis changes
The phone will use Apple's A21 Pro chip, manufactured on TSMC's refined N2P node. This generation brings dedicated silicon for running large local generative models on the device without pinging remote cloud servers. Apple will pair that chip with 12GB of unified RAM across both Pro models, standardizing memory across the line.
The chassis drops physical buttons altogether. Apple experimented with solid-state haptic buttons for years, and the 2027 Pro casing finally replaces the volume rocker and action button with pressure-sensitive capacitive contact points backed by dedicated Taptic engines.
